Pull Studs
RETENTION KNOBS / PULL STUDS
Critical Connection Between Tool Holder and Machine Spindle
Pull studs (also called retention knobs) are the critical threaded fasteners that secure your BT tool holders into the machine spindle. They engage with the drawbar mechanism to provide the clamping force that holds your tool in place during machining. Always match the pull stud standard to your machine manufacturer.
AVAILABLE STANDARDS
MAS-BT Standards
MAS-BT - Japanese Standard
MAS P-BT - With O-Ring Groove
Machine-Specific
Mazak
Mori Seiki
Makino
Okuma
Taper Sizes

Match to your tool holder taper
IMPORTANT: MATCHING YOUR MACHINE
Check your machine manual for the correct pull stud standard
Wrong pull stud can damage spindle or cause tool pullout
Japanese machines typically use MAS-BT standard
O-ring versions (P-BT) provide better coolant sealing
KEY BENEFITS
Heat-treated for strength and durability
Precision threads for secure engagement
Multiple standards for machine compatibility
Essential for safe CNC operation

Select blade width, groove depth (T), and working radius range to find the right Face Groove tool
Select boring diameter range, shank diameter (D), and insert type (C=diamond/T=triangular) to find the right boring head
Select CBA model (complete boring range) and internal boring range to find the right micro finish boring head
Select LBK model (matches your CBA boring head) and extension length to find the right extension rod
Select BT type (spindle taper), LBK number (locking block socket), CBA head model, and projection length (L1) to find the right boring head shank
How to Choose the Right Holder
Shank Height (H): Choose based on your machine's tool holder/turret slot size
Tool Height (H3): Must match the H dimension of your SPB Tool (26mm or 32mm)
Example: If you have SPB26-3 tool (H=26mm), select H3=26mm
Must match your SPB Tool's H dimension
HRC≤56 is recommended for best price/performance ratio with newest nano-black coating technology.
